Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to making this website usable by everyone
Our Commitment
Aquability designs, manufactures and installs accessible bathing solutions, so making our own website accessible matters to us for the same reason. We are working towards conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and we are adopting WCAG 2.2 criteria as we go.
This statement is honest about where we are: it is not a claim of full or certified compliance. We do not display an "accessibility approved" badge on this site, because no such official certification exists for WCAG conformance — it is a set of guidelines a website conforms to, not a seal issued by a standards body. What follows is a plain account of what we've checked, what's still outstanding, and how to tell us if something isn't working for you.
What We've Checked So Far
We've run automated accessibility testing (using the axe-core engine, the same checker behind tools like axe DevTools and Lighthouse) across every page of the site, covering WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 Level A and AA success criteria. This checks things like colour contrast, form labelling, heading structure, ARIA usage and minimum touch-target sizes. Issues found through this process have been fixed as they were identified, including:
- Text and link colours adjusted across the site so they meet minimum contrast requirements against their backgrounds
- Interactive controls, such as image gallery navigation dots, enlarged to meet minimum touch-target sizes
- Images and embedded frames given proper text alternatives and titles
What's Still Outstanding
Automated testing catches a meaningful share of accessibility issues, but not everything — it can't fully evaluate things like whether reading order makes sense with a screen reader, or whether every part of the page can be operated by keyboard alone. We haven't yet completed a full manual accessibility review (screen reader testing, keyboard-only navigation testing, and formal HTML markup validation), and a small number of pages still have text displayed over background images that needs a manual check to confirm it reads clearly in every case. We'll update this statement as that work is completed.
