Tom's charity hike for Alzheimers

Tom’s Story

For over 20 years I have worked for Aquability installing and maintaining mobility equipment and increasingly often witness the struggles people have living with dementia. It is now predicted 1 in 3 people will develop some kind of dementia, so if you’re lucky to avoid it, it’s likely someone you are close to won’t, as is the case with someone very close to me.

On the 29th March I will be setting out on my solo hike from John O Groats to Lands End . It is a hike of just under 1200 miles, mostly along national trails, which with weather and legs permitting I am hoping to complete in around 10 weeks. I’ve enjoyed hiking since I was young, but at 54 this is the toughest hike that I will ever face.

Alzheimer’s Society is a fantastic charity offering help and hope to people living with this dreadful disease, as well as investing in groundbreaking research.

So if you can make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society in support of my hike just click on the link https://www.justgiving.com/page/jonathan-tombling-1?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=EM

Any help you can give this charity would help tremendously and be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Tom.
